Ante Natal Classes
Happy Mums classes have health benefits for both yourself and your baby. The cardiovascular exercises improve your efficiency in transporting and utilising oxygen, which reduces the likelihood of developing circulatory problems such as cramps or varicose veins and improves blood flow to the placenta. It also reduces the risk of gestational diabetes and high blood pressure. It increases your energy levels, can improve your sleep patterns and, importantly for many Mums to be, can control additional weight gain.
The toning exercises will help to maintain good posture, strengthen legs, back and most importantly strengthen those muscles which can easily be neglected, arms, abdominals and pelvic floor.
Happy Mums begins with a gentle warm up, followed by a circuit of functional exercises that will help to make day to day activities that little bit easier. This will be followed by a cool down and pelvic floor exercises.
Happy Mums classes last 45 minutes and there's always time for a drink and a chat afterwards. The classes are small with a maximum of 12 ladies which means I can provide the best possible care for my expectant Mums. Happy Mums are always friendly and supportive and you may find yourself making friends for years to come.
Post Natal Classes
Now that you have your bundle of joy and things are starting to settle, you will probably be thinking about getting back in shape. Happy Mums offers a great opportunity to reunite with the friends that you made in the ante natal classes and to gradually get back to exercise at your own speed and in a comfortable environment. Of course baby is very welcome to come along too, it will be lovely to meet them!
Prices
Courses run half termly. I am currently taking bookings for the week commencing 1 November 2010, it is a 7 week course for £42.00. Courses are available in Maldon and Chelmsford but places are limited. Please call for more information.
