Happy Hearts
Happy Hearts is an exercise class that has been designed to be safe and effective for people that have experienced heart problems. It's always great if partners and friends can come along too as it offers that little extra support and encouragement. In fact it's the perfect exercise class for anyone that wants to do a little more exercise. After all everyone needs a Happy Heart!
If you have completed the cardiac rehabilitation course at the hospital it is very beneficial for you to continue with regular exercise. That's easier said than done though and it's easy to let it slide. It's essential that you enjoy the exercise and stay motivated and the best way to do that is to become a Happy Heart!
At Happy Hearts you can keep up your level of fitness and maybe even improve it gradually over time. Classes are small with a maximum of 20 people and there's always a lot of fun and laughter and a real sense of support in every group.
I am closely linked to both Broomfield and Colchester General Hospitals and I am a qualified Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation Instructor, so you can feel confident that you are in safe hands.
Classes last one hour and begin with a gradual warm up, followed by a range of fun exercises in a circuit style and ending with a cool down and a little relaxation (everyones favourite bit!).
Happy Hearts Classes are all very sociable as you can see in the gallery. We have regular walks and lunches, monthly 'Pub Club', our annual charity walk and Christmas celebrations.
